Hola everyone!
The past few days have been a great transition time into the next part of this journey. Each day we have said goodbye to an adult. Yesterday it was Carl, and today it was David. When we pulled up to the airport today to drop David off I was thinking, wow this is about to get real fast. I'm so thankful for all the support and help Carl and David have gave to us while they were here. I'm especially glad David was here yesterday because several of us, including me, got sick. We aren't really sure what caused it, but let's just say it wasn't the funniest day I've ever had. Luckily though we all feel better today.
After we dropped David off we went to the market with Katia (CR Mom). The market was so cool. Fresh fruit for so cheap and so many samples offered. It's funny being from North America here because everywhere we go we get stared out. So after we bought a bunch of yummy fresh fruit and veggies such as mangos, pineapple, watermelon, cas, onions, carrots, etc. we came back home and made lunch with help from Katia. She is trying to teach us how to cook different local dishes with her style and bless her for her patience. My job was to peel mangos and make juice out of them. Easy right? Well first off, I'm not that comfortable with knives, they kinda freak me out. But I peeled them and then Katia had to show me how to slice them since the seed part is very large. So after all that process she told me to put in sugar and water. I asked how much and she told me to figure it out by tasting it. haha. So quite awhile later I had made mango juice all by myself! It was pretty good too. We have spent the rest of the day relaxing and catching up on some reading which has been nice.
So tomorrow we will start off back at the Alajuela church and hopefully get to see some of our friends we haven't seen in a week. Then we start our first full week in Costa Rica.
Here is our schedule just so you can know :)
Normal week schedules:
Monday and Tuesday- Alajuela Church with Pastor Douglas doing work projects
Tuesday nights- prayer service at Alajuela Church
Wednesday and Thursday- San Jose Warehouse with Katia doing give a book foundation work
May 28th- June 4th We are going to Jaco to do beach ministry.
June 12th- July 2nd We are going to Sarapiqui for a week and a half at the learning center and a week and a half at a home stay.
So as you can probably see I feel like this summer is going to go by really fast I think. I can't wait to see the awesome things God is going to show and teach during these two months. I hope you all will continue to pray for our team and our relationship with God, each other, and the people we meet. Love and miss you all!
Meg,
ReplyDeleteLove to you! Can't believe you haven't learned how to use knives since your Dad is a master at that cutting thing! We love you and are praying for health, safety and success!
Love,
Sherry
